Life is such a roller coaster of emotions isn't it?

Last month my oldest daughter and her husband finalized their divorce and it has been a wave of emotions as they have navigated this new journey. Our family dynamic has a new normal for all of us. Feels like saying goodbye.

And just as expected, life delivers the opposite of a goodbye. A new chapter for another child. This past weekend, we celebrated my oldest sons engagement to his sweetheart. We we are thrilled to welcome her to our Devenish Sevenish Crew. 

I'm such a romantic at heart with huge “feels”. I love the expansion of young hearts and new beginnings, and I feel heartache if I know someone is hurting too. 

Showing up for our people in whatever they need in all aspects of life really is the best thing we can do isn't it? 

I know when people show up for me, I find that comforting and endearing, even when I didn't “think” I needed it. Guess what? I sure did.

I've watched how my kids, and my extended family have all rallied around each other in both scenarios. Emotional availability. Everyone doing the best they can from where they stand. 

It got me thinking about something I shared in my Masterclass last week about achieving a fulfilled life of success, balance, purpose and healthy relationships = the very thing that sets you apart is your Emotional Intelligence (EQ)

More essential than IQ or maybe even your experience, your EQ reflects your ability to understand, manage, develop and build on your own unique gifts when showing up in the world  AND how we communicate with others in positive, effective ways.

Shine your light and love on all who may cross your path today. Because what we do on the daily matters! Show up even if you don't fully understand or know how. Your presence may be all that is needed to hold space for another.

Cultivate greatness in yourself by shining your light, your energy will project outwards in our families, our work, and our communities! Illuminate!
