What moves you? Do you have “a thing?" What lights you up?

It's music for me. It is my love language. Life is like a song to me. Music heals! Music transcends! I speak in music lyrics (and movie quotes, but that's another topic for another day).

I'm grateful my hubby feels the same way, I am giddy when a new song comes sliding in my messages with a new song or a lyric that he knows I love. As equally awesome, is when I find a new song coming my way from my kids, I grin from ear to ear. #parentingaward #winning

Sometimes when Kelly hears a song, he will know exactly the month and year, it's so crazy to me! He will say something like “this makes me feel like I'm driving up dempsy in Fall of 1988 heading up country!" (that is Wyoming redneck talk just to be clear).

In any language, music is little mini time capsules in my heart.

Just like that …BAM a song can transport you to a time, place, feeling, and immediately recall a memory. Sometimes it invokes a smell or sensation through your whole body. Do you do that?

Whatever lights you up, make time for that! Do more of it and get it on your to-do list. All of them, I'm guessing you have a half dozen things that bring you joy.

Fun Fact about me… did you know I wanted to be an MTV VJ? It's a true story. I really did. I even have an original MTV Jacket, its a pride and joy item no doubt. We didn't have cable at our house when we grew up but my Aunt Marilyn did, and when we would go hang out there (which was often)  I would immediately put it on channel 36, it was dreamy. I still love music videos, I'm kind of obsessed; now I just find a YouTube channel, turn my speakers up and the house shakes.

My sisters and I would lay on the floor (with the speaker inches away from our head) and listen to the words and sing our hearts out. Ohhh man, when the album had the lyrics on the back of the sleeve YOU REALLY WON THE LOTTERY!

My first concert was SURVIVOR. I was in Junior High, and I thought it was so dang cool. Gosh, I have been to so many concerts, from Elton John to Garth Brooks, James Taylor, KISS, Bon Jovi, Cher, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Janet Jackson, ahhhh so many. The feeling and roar of the crowd, the sheer energy of a stadium make me all warm and fuzzy inside, it lights me up, & brings joy and happiness like no other! I have so many playlists, including meditation ones too. Music fills every part of my life.

Music has been a great support for me in my life. It has such a unique power to move us in ways that few other things can. Do you feel it too?

Whatever lights you up, do more of that! Let your HEART sing!
